Plumora Technologies ("we", "our", "us") operates the ShareEazy mobile application and website (shareeazy.com). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you use ShareEazy:
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number (optional), profile photo (optional)
- Authentication Data: Encrypted passwords, OAuth tokens from Google/Apple Sign-In
- Financial Data: Expense descriptions, amounts, categories, split details, settlements (we do NOT collect bank account numbers, credit card numbers, or UPI PINs)
- Device Information: Device type, OS version, push notification tokens (for sending notifications)
- Usage Data: Groups you create/join, friends you add
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the expense splitting service
- To authenticate your identity and secure your account
- To send push notifications about expenses, settlements, and group activities
- To send transactional emails (verification, password reset, group invites)
- To calculate balances and simplify debts within groups
- To enable you to export your expense data
3. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Your data is shared only in these limited cases:
- Within your groups: Group members can see shared expenses, balances, and settlements
- With your friends: Friends can see direct expenses and balances between you
- Service providers: Firebase (authentication, push notifications), Gmail SMTP (transactional emails) — these process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality
4. Data Storage & Security
- Data is stored on secure servers hosted in Mumbai, India
- All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Passwords are hashed using BCrypt (never stored in plain text)
- JWT tokens are used for session management with expiration
- Database backups are encrypted and auto-pruned
5. Data Retention
- Account data is retained as long as your account is active
- Deleted accounts: personal data removed within 30 days
- Shared financial records (expenses in groups) may be retained in anonymized form for other group members
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View all your data in the app (profile, expenses, balances)
- Export: Download your expense data as CSV
- Correct: Update your profile information anytime
- Delete: Request account deletion (see Account Deletion)
7. Children's Privacy
ShareEazy is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Push Notifications
We send push notifications for expense activities, settlements, and group updates. You can disable notifications in your device settings at any time.
9. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, push notifications, phone verification
- Gmail SMTP: Transactional emails only
These services have their own privacy policies and are GDPR-compliant.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
